Violette FASSBAENBER

From 1978 to 1980 I got my basic ceramic education at the Tekisui Ceramic Institute in Ashiya-city, Japan. 1980 – 1985 I was an assistant of the ceramic artist Takako Araki in Nishinomiya, where I got a deep insight into the world of ceramic-sculpture and objet-art. In 1986 I started my own studio in Basel, creating mainly ceramic sculpture. The participation in various symposia in Kecskemet (Hungary), Seto and Shigaraki (Japan) and Jena (Germany) turned out to be important steps in my career, on one side by the exchange with other artists and on the other side as a time out to deepen the own art-research.
